Lasha Talakhadze recently Snatched 220 kg and Clean & Jerked 264 kg to achieve a new world record total of 484 kg. 

This took place at the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships held in Pattaya, Thailand. He is a two time winner of the IWF Male Lifter of the Year

Egypt had previously been banned from competing at the 2019 World Championships due to doping offenses.
