Alessandra Pichelli and Carol-Ann Reason-Thibault—both hailing from Canada East—finished 11th and 15th, respectively, at the 2017 Games. Canada West’s Brent Fikowski and Canada East’s Patrick Vellner finished second and third, respectively, at this year’s Games and will round out the team that will be coached by 2014 Games champion Camille Leblanc-Bazinet.
Canada has yet to claim an overall victory at any of the Invitational events, though two Canadian athletes have witnessed a win on the Invitational floor: In 2013, Team World beat Team USA in Berlin, Germany, with Leblanc-Bazinet and Albert-Dominic Larouche representing Canada on the winning team.
The Canada Team was close to taking the title in 2014, but fell to the USA Team by just 3 points.
After losing on home soil in 2016, Canada will be looking for redemption Down Under.
